The only thing I love about buying new (or used!) gear is getting a smoking deal on said gear. I also love getting the latest and greatest stuff before anyone else!
The Clymb is a new deal site that sells outdoor gear, and I got a beta invite! Beta invite, plus cheap gear sounds right up my alley. The site which goes live on Wednesday follows a model similar to woot.com. One deal per week at very discounted rates. They also have a concept of GreenShipping, which is an interesting idea.
The Clymb has plenty of competition. I already monitor steepandcheap, OutDoorDaily, REI’s Deal of the Day, Whiskey Milita, and SpadOut. So we will see how they fair.
If you’re interested in checking out the site and signing up for a beta account you should DEFINITELY use this link: http://theclymb.com/invite-from/BenjaminSmith because if you use that link, and you end up buying something, then I get $10 credit towards my next purchase! And since I don’t have an actual job at the moment, I will need as much free credit as I can muster for new gear!

Another great price comparison tool for outdoor gear and apparel.
The site sucks. High shipping usually makes things on this website a rip off. For example, a $9.98 shipping on a water bottle is overkill.
Just pro-form it, or goto a box store.
Kelly from The Clymb here. We’re always working on ways to lower shipping charges. Currently shipping is $7.98 for most items and we don’t charge sales tax no matter what state you live in. The shipping charges are actually pretty comparable to most e-tailers out there but most of our customers agree our prices are far far lower. Just wanted to clear that up. Thanks!
Die-hard discount-deal fanatic here. I ski in the winter and play baseball and ride my motorycle in the summer.
I rarely ever purchase anything at a brick-and-mortar store anymore unless there’s a smoking deal going on. 90% of my snow-gear purchases are made through Tramdock or Steepandcheap (Backcountry)
I recently was invited to The Clymb, and welcome another outlet. I found a great deal on Zeal goggles at a time I needed to replace my goggs. So far, it looks like theclymb puts up quality gear (not junk like some other sites).
Kudos to the clymb. Now, if only I could find the discount QUALITY baseball and motorcycle outlet I need, I’d be set…
