red rocks: community pillar
April 22nd, 2008
The past two weekend I’ve spent climbing in Red Rocks, Nevada. In these four short days I’ve climbed some of the most amazing, long, and fun routes of my climbing career. Of particular note is a route called Community Pillar. Now this climb might not be your typical “classic” route, but it was HILARIOUS. The amount of squeezing through improbable holes and up tight chimneys you do is mind blowing. And watching people attempt to go through holes they are fairly certain will get them stuck is entertainment like nothing else. Here’s a video I made for my climbing partner Erin who couldn’t join me because she’s in Nova Scotia:
You can check out the photos I took from both weekends here, and here.

This is really funny, especially I know all the people involved. =)

Just watching this again, I laughed so hard, I cried. Oh man, laughter surely is powerful medicine! Thanks to Dennis for being our “Crash Test Dummy” when it came to super tight squeeze chimneys!!! In considering a name for the venerable team of Dennis and Dave, perhaps it should be “Squeeze it Out!”

I’m disapointed, u didn’t tell mee about this. Besides that, I’d say we did a pretty good job. Maybe, we’ll get a casting call:)

OMG, that is so funny! Thanks for sharing that Dave. Although I’m a little concerned about Dennis’ mother, what with Dennis being in her birth canal for 9 months–sounds painful.
Will I see you & Dennis at HERA this year? you doing Burning Man?
